I'm not medical but I don't know why you have clomid, if you are definitely ovulating? I had clomid many years ago, the side effects were not very nice - sweating and sickness - it didn't do the trick either, but that was probably just me.

its just to give me a little boost my progesterone levels are 30 which is ovulating but my monthly are extreemley light with bleeding inbetween too....ppl who are on clomid there progesterone levels are in the 80;s or 100 so when you look at my 30 its a big difference....... maybe some one who is more medical minded can maybe share some thoughts
Probably better off asking in the morning, honey, when sqad or other clinical people may be on AB?
I am not a fertility expert, but I will do my best.

Yes, you are ovulating, but if my memory serves me right, your progesterone levels were 30ng/ml........normal.......so I can only assume that the Clomid (Clomifine, same thing)is to give your ovulation an "extra boost" in that the oval that you are producing are of poor value, not good enough to maintain implantation (this is only a guess)

The intermenstrual bleeding does seem to me to need explaining and investigating, but I cannot explain why this hasn´t been followed up......ask your Fertilty Consultant.

hi.. yes thats right i had progesterone of 32 in november and 27 last month... ive been reading so much conflicting advice about clomid on the internet that it thickens cervical mucus which i dont have much of and that it can thin the uterine lining.....but consultant wouldn;t of gave me it if he thought it would do me more harm than good would he?... also i dont even think ive had blood tests to check the quality of my eggs i had some checked for fsh i think it was which was on day1 and 7 i think..... so do you think ive got nothing to lose in trying these tablets?.....im a born worrier i know lol as for the bleeding inbetween i am sick of mentioning it to consultant as they just keep dismissing it
If you don't mind me asking, have you had a post-coital test?
Question Author
hi no ive never been offered this test
I thought this was a standard part of infertility investigations to check several things, eg thickness/condition of cervical mucus and also antibodies which can cause sperm to be sensed as a 'foreign body' and rejected.
Google it and see. Might be worth trying before they say 'unexplained'
Most medical authorities consider the post coital test as unreliable and have abandoned it.
OK fair enough Sqad, things change I know. I can remember having about three of them at different times but that was a while ago....I can also however, remember the embarrassment !!

to be honest i dont really want to google anymore as its all a bit scarry with one site saying one thing and another something else lol,,,,, so if i take this clomid and it dosent help in getting me pregnant and i dnt go for ivf is there a possibility i could still get pregnant naturally??
Well I did! I have two grown up sons, but I do have to say it took 13 years to get the first one. Sure you won't have to wait that long.

im really upset today think its just sinking in now that i could actually be childless!! cant believe this is all happening to me nothing ever goes right for me and this just proves it... im 37 next month so time is deffinetly not on my side
Well, don't give up. Take the Clomid, it gives you more chance of conception and failing that go for IVF. I think you can have one go on the NHS and then you have to pay (not sure, different areas might be different). Sincerely wish you all good fortune

thanks for your support... im really scared about ivf and still dont know if i could do it the hsg was bad enough pain wise and the thought of injecting myself scares me even more i am such a whimp lol
you will find your natuaral level of the intervention you are willing to accept to become pregnant
I had clomid and was ovulating. I had endometris which was preventing me getting pregnant, but the specialist said the clomid boost might overcome this. It did!!

This was 28 years ago and I had no side effects whatsoever. Like you I had three months worth and got pregnant and had a healthy happy pregnancy.

The pregnancy cured the endometriosis, just as the specialist said it would.

So good luck!!!

i so hope the clomid will work for me i really do.....hope i dont get too many bad side affects on it but i dont really care if it makes me feel terrible if i get a pregnancy out of it lol.....the thought of being childless is horrible
Honey, I was 36 when I had my son.

If you're ovulating, the medication you've been prescribed is likely for a different purpose. Dealing with unexplained infertility can be challenging, but there are natural herbs that have been known to help. I recommend checking out "Get Pregnant Fertility Tea." Many women have shared their success stories using this organic herbal tea to overcome unexplained infertility. It's made without preservatives, so you can consider giving it a try. You can find it on @secretsoftea. Best of luck on your journey to conceiving.
