Anyone got any experience of this - I saw a chiropodist who suspect I may have it and he has told me to go to my doctor.

Hi Postdog.

I hope that your chiropodist has got it wrong but here are a couple of links which you might find useful.

The relevant NHS web page:
http://www.nhs.uk/con...ges/Introduction.aspx
(Click through the links for 'Symptoms', 'Causes', etc)

Support and information from the UK charity dedicated to helping ataxia sufferers:
http://www.ataxia.org.../how-we-can-help.html

I'll keep my fingers crossed for you, in the hope that your GP will tell you that you chiropodist doesn't know what he's talking about.

ta, but one never knows and my doctor hasn't been a 100% right so far. I only know what I have briefly looked up, I am dosgy on my feet and I do have poor palance and coordinatiod. My chiropodist has recommended my doctor send me for neurological tests.
Very little information, but it does sounds as though you do have ataxia, which is a symptom and not a disease. There are many causes so see your GP for neurological assessment.
