it could bleed and you could die from blood loss
it could erode into the peritoneum and die of sepsis
smurfy.....well apart from giving him a miserable lifestyle, more serious complications:

1) It could bleed..............collapse maybe or certainly serious anaemia.
2) It could perforate......that is a "big deal"....surgical emergency and life threatening.
3) It could cause an obstruction in his stomach with severe vomiting and again is a "big deal"

After saying all those things above......if it is well controlled then he could live his wholelife with none of the above coming to fruition.

Now the big question............where abouts in the stomach is the ulcer?
Because, if it is in a certain anatomical position, then there MIGHT be an OUTSIDE chance of malignant change.

OK I've warned him. One more burp and I make an appointment !
If it could become anything lime the stomach ulcer I have it was hideously painful and I couldn't move without feeling very sick for a couple of weeks, I was off work (unusual for me) and had a pretty miserable time. The thought of going through that again would be enough to get me to the GP at the earliest sign of another.

Jenna OH shows no symptoms of anything, just burps a lot and sometimes indigestion, but a glass of milk seems to help him now.
It would be sensible, surely, to have a proper diagnosis so you know it is or isn't a peptic ulcer?
Question Author
boxtops he is so stubborn, I have said I will make a doctor's appointment but he won't go.
