I am trying to trace a series of bubble gum cards that I collected when I was a boy. I can give the following clues:

I purchased them in Great Britain. They were given free in every packet of bubble gum. They depicted really weird nighmarish monsters from outer space, aliens with all manner of tentacles and appendages. The artwork was excellent. The cards were larger than standard cigarette cards. I think there were more than the usual 50 different cards in the full series, maybe 72 or 120. They were available in either the very late 1950's or early 1960's. They were NOT "Mars attacks". They were a schoolboy's dream!

I would be most grateful if anyone can identify them.

'Outer Limits' maybe?

I'm afraid not Naz, the Outer Limits aired from 1963 -1965 which was much too late. I would have been about 13-15 when I carried these around in my trouser pocket which makes the dates 1958-1961. I'm pretty sure the weren't a spin-off from a television show as the sheer number of cards all showing groteque aliens would exclude this.
Any chance you (or someone) could scan a few?
It hard to imagine they weren't a spin-off from a film/comic etc. Especially given the number of sci-fi b-movies that were around.
