I know this is quite vague but my 85 year old aunt has just been diagnosed with liver cancer....she is also at end stage dementia....because of this it has been decided not to operate or for her to have chemo...
Anyone any idea as to how long she might have....ball park....weeks....months??? I daren't ask my cousin as I don't want to upset her further.....Thanks

no i dont, sorry
Purple, I had a friend who was diagnosed with liver cancer. she was half your aunt's age, but was jaundiced and was never "well" enough to start chemo. she died 4 months later.

I am sorry for your aunt and the family.. tough times.
Without speaking to her consultant there is not a lot of info you can get if you don`t want to worry your cousin. I`m no expert by a long way but I would think if she has only recently been diagnosed it would be months rather than weeks.

Thank you Sara.....it is such a shame but the only redeeming thing is the dementia....at least she has no real idea what is going on....Thank you for your thoughts
I agree with sara and 237SJ.
My Dad had 'suspected' liver cancer. They said if correct he had about 6 months to live. Two months later they confirmed it......he died 7 months later. I must warn you..it's a horrible way to die.
