In what combination is it ok to take these - the doc said it was fine but gave no guidelines(and I felt too crappy to ask)?

A 'bad virus' - even though there are none going around at the moment (doc's words) and I have a very high temperature and racing heart beat.
I can´t see the advantage in an adult taking a combination, but it is certainly helpful in children, however, Ibuprofen 200mgms with Paracetamol 500mgms three tomes a day should settle you down.

P,S Did you get my reply re. Adenoids and Glue ear?
Three tomes a day, Sqad? I've heard of volumes but...
mike....LOL......I just read about it..LOL

Yes thanks - he went for his pre- op assessment and his hearing was normal for the first time ever. They are seeing him again in three months to see how he is getting on.
sherrardk.....that sounds good sense.
hi, you can take paracetamol every six hours and ibuprofen every eight (don't take aspirin and ibuprofen together)
it might make sense (for example if you have a fever) to take them alternately. For example, take paracetamol, then after 3-4 hours take ibuprofen, then in 3 hours take paracetamol again. the advantage to combining them is that you can have more pain relief/temperature reducer in 24 hours than taking 1 alone
i thought you could take paracetamol every 4 hours, up to a maximum of 8 over a 24 hour period? same with aspirin and ibruprofen?
makes sense to alternate the different pills to get maximum relief.
