Mouth breathing

I am a mouth breather (I breathe in and out of my mouth as opposed to breathing in through my nose and out through my mouth) and during the night my mouth dries out and leaves my throat really sore. I always wake up with a dry mouth, sore throat and a croaky voice. Has anyone got any tips to help with these probs? or is there anything i can buy to keep my mouth from drying out? I've tried nose breathing and can't keep it going- i just revert back to mouth breathing.
Thanks in advance!!

Have you sought medical advice as to why you can't breathe through your nose? It suggests sinus problems.
We seriously cannot advise you on how to keep your mouth shut while you sleep.

There is a gel you can get. They use it in hospital...I don't know what it's called or where to get it. I know because they gave me it to use on my Dad....
I do the same thing and my mouth gets dry lise08, my OH says I snore I don't know if it is a sinus problem or that you can actually retrain yourself to breathe properly.
Prudie is correct, the problem does not lie with your mouth breathing, but you nasal obstruction which needs E.N.T investigation from a specialist.
It could be due to something as simple as nasal polyps or a deviated nasal septum.
Have you tried using a nasal spray twice a day for a fortnight?
Try sleeping on your side. If you sleep on your back, your jaw will drop naturally and cause the dryness. Sorry just a thought!
