For a number of years I have suffered with this complaint, My method of treatment has been "Plantago"which is an herbal remedy. Unfortunately the effect of the Plantago as diminished. Is there anyone out there with another remedy?

i've had itchy ears for a while now, probably since menopause, and i use a tiny little dab of cortisone cream on a cotton bud swizzled round my ear. does the trick for a couple of weeks. i've had this tube of cream since the dark ages but it still seems to be effective. maybe a moisturiser would work, E45 perhaps?
my friend had the same thing and could not it cleared up - went private and he gave her E45 it seemed to help
This is a difficult problem, as it has been going on for years.

Itching ears is a symptom and not a diagnosis and hence needs the appropriate treatment that a diagnosis would offer.

It could be eczema, bacterial, or even a fungus infection.

An accurate diagnosis needs the expertise of a Consultant ENT surgeon before any treatment could be contemplated.
would 'funicide cream' - work Sqad - its the one I use for the skin infection in my ears ?
I used to get itchy ears and they were also wet inside. If I remember it was called otitis media and I was prescribed drops for the problem. I think you should check this out initially with your GP. Agree with Squad it needs investigating so you know the exact cause.
Yes thats what I get lofty - its a complete nuisance
Sorry 'otitis externa'.
Hi Peri,

I was advised never to get the inside of my ears wet and if I did to make sure that they were completely dried.

I haven't had it for years now but yes it was a complete nuisance!
prti....sorry....never heard of funicide.
Just wondering if Peri meant Fucidin HC Squad.
