Can anyone suggest something to relieve the pain of sinusitus. It usually starts early evening and at times the pain is horrendus. I have all the usual pain killers but none of them help.

See your GP - you might need surgery if your tubes are blocked. Relative of mine had it done and has had no pain since. You have my sympathy, it's a dreadful pain.
Hi mctavish,i have been ill for the last few days with flu and have really bad sinus trouble.I do find sinutab very good and also massaging my forehead and cheekbones relieves the pain too.Try inhaling albas oil in some hot water too.

Thanks boxstops. Think I will go down that road although I don't fancy the idea of surgery. I have never known pain like it, but feel I can't go on with pain like this.

Polly1958 thanks I will try anything and I have some albas oil never thought of using that.
Mctavish,

Sachs thankyou so much for that info - will get to Argos tomorrow. I will try anything and that is not expensive.
Well I hope it helps you! Must be painful! x
also - you could try Tiger Balm, not expensive and you can get it in Boots. Stinks of menthol and you rub it in over where the pain, for short-term relief I find it really good.
Just fill a bowl with water just off the boil . Sit with your face about 6" from the steam and put a towel over your head and the bowl. Simple. Adding Albas oil, methol helps but is not essential. Massage around your eyes afterwards.

Thank you to everyone for the very helpful replies.
Oddly enough......sinus pain rarely comes on in the early evening.....it usually comes on mid-morning.

See you GP as you headaches may be nothing to do with your sinuses.

Sqad - Started early this morning. Haven't got a headache as such, the pain is all under my right cheekbone.
McT fine, then you need to see an ENT surgeon.
