I don't know. Depends how much sunlight they have been getting.

I was prescribed sunbeds on the NHS for a skin condition.

not all skin conditions are called cancer - that was the prognosis she gave me......since she has young children am quite concerned.
I know but stress and worry can cause skin conditions. Which can be treated with sunbeds.
Question Author
agree ummm.....my friend said she has breast-cancer - I wouldn't recommend sunbeds for a treatment? Am having doubts about her sympathetic complaint, so wondered what others thought? Is she a charlaton?
Maybe she's telling the truth but the cancer hasn't cured her vanity.

I'd be suspicious personally.
Maybe she feels the need to get a bit of a tan, being ill makes you pale and then people are forever telling you how ill you look. Did she actually tell you the sunbed was for treatment?
Cancer patients (once their radio/cymo therephy is over) are usually told to relax and do enjoyable things, such as having parties, holidays, country walks, so the sun-bed is not unusual (unless your friend has skin cancer). Some cancer patients look very ill, others (due to the type of cancer) look no different then before they had cancer. Remember Jane Tomlinson? She was given 6 months to live but died about 7 years later. During which time she received telephone calls from people saying she was a fraud and that she did not have cancer. So be careful what you say!
