Hi guys. Well firstly I'd like to state that I practise safe sex and have been for several STI tests since I've been sexually active, so that isn't the issue.

Basically my last STI test was in April and it was fine, I didn't have anything. I've been with my boyfriend for 2 years and haven't slept with anyone else in that time.
He cheated on me not long after my last STI test - he said he just kissed the girl but I'm not too sure so I'm going for a test tomorrow.

If I go tomorrow and it turns out I now have an infection, does that mean that's slept with someone else, picked up an infection and passed it on to me?

Hope that all makes sense!

I just figured that if I didn't have an infection the last time, and I'd been sleeping with my partner for that entire year, then surely he can't have had an infection?
But if I go this time and it turns out that I've got something - it must mean he's had sex with someone else and got an infection?

yes it would mean he's given it to you
That's how it works Suzie.
I think there are some that can lay dormant though. Such as warts. He may have got something before he met you.
and if you dont have an infection, then he doesnt have an infection and he cant have slept with anyone else at all

If you dont belive what hes says or trust him a STD test will make no difference

Thanks guys, that's what I thought just wanted to make sure.
Well he cheated on me so right now I don't fully trust him! Lol, but at least I'm being practical about this.
You seem to be wanting to catch him out. I wouldnt be with someone I didnt trust

I'm not trying to catch him out, I'm simply trying to put my mind at ease by ensuring I don't have an infection.
I'm not asking for relationship advice, thank you for all the replies though it's been a great help :)
sorry I just assumed as you said you dont trust him. Good luck
