hi
i have been sent to a physiotherapist by my dr as i have had an issue with my back.
not only has the woman clearly at no point read my history as she kept asking when was my car accident and what is the problem she has not treated me.

she has slightly rocked me whilst laying on the bed which usually precedes the manipulation but she hasnt performed any at any point.
she has told me to put heat on my back and lay on my tummy or stand to eat and at no point to sit.

having gone to seek a 2nd opinion and a 3rd opinion i have been informed that i should undr no circumstances be laying on my stomach but back or side only and walking is ok too in short doses, i can also sit to eat and drink.
at no point to put heat on the back only oce due to heat making blood cells swell and causing more problems and pain.
i have also had manipulation on the area in question.

do i have a legal case? especially as i have asked to be transfered to another physio as the original was awful. i ended up having to go private as apparently this was not possible. despite the other physio based at the surgery knowing my full back ground and being able to treat this reoccuring problem every other time this has happened.

also how do i go about complaining about this to the surgery?

many thanks x

i will address your last question first.
To complain to the surgery, it is best you do it in writing to the practice manager in the first instance. Hopefully this will bring local resolution of the problem. You might like to copy in your local pct complaints manager too.

As to your first question -do i have a legal case? A legal case for what? as far as i can see from your accoubnt the practitioner hasn't actually harmed you in any way, just given you (in your opinion) duff advice. Medical opinions do vary, and it was completely your choice to go privately. Do you really want to spend thousands on solicitors bills in order to be compensated a tiny amount (if at all?)

i dont want money etc for a legal case but i am convinced this physiotherapist is incompetent and do not want her to be treating patients by giving incorrect info as she has me, infact by telling me to lay on my stomach she has actually caused a further issue with my back and its a good job i got a 2nd opinion when i did.

i think she is incompetent and wish to complain about this fact. i just wondered whether i could complain as in do i have the right
you are perfectly at liberty to complain about the service you have received if you are not happy with it. You would also be perfectly at liberty to have a "legal case" although if you don't want monetary compensation as you suggest, what would be the point in spending loads of your own money because one person gave you what you consider to be bad advice?
