Anyone know any good tips to clear up what I think must be a fungal infection? Been to doc, still no improvement. Tried tee tree oil also.

Fungal is the commonest.....what did he give you?
get yourself a product called Curanail from the chemist,it treats fungal nail infection.
Curanail is ok if you only have 1 toenail infected I took terbfine for 12 months!! My nails are fine now 15 months later
leave toes open to elements and regularly dip into salted water.
If you have a Fungal infection you will need to go to your GP I left mine for a few years & ALL but one of my nails became infected
If they are yellow, and look thickened, then fungal nail infection is most likely. Unless it is one small patch, then one course of drugs alone is unlikely to get rid. It can take over a year if the infection is on multiple nails, and quite low down on nail bed.

My doc prescribed me a strong paint-on treatment, and prescribed me 3 boxes at a time to keep prescription charges down for me.

However, if they are just yellow looking, not thickened or unusual in other ways, it could just be that you wore nail varnish too long without taking it off, and your nails have discoloured. In which you need to let the nails be free from varnish for an extended period. Try giving yourself foot baths with lots of lemon juice squeezed in, that eases the discolouration.
kira is quite correct, in that it may be your nail varnish.

We are all assuming that it is a fungal infection because your Dr said it was, but he could only say that if a swab was taken.

Did he take a swab for fungal culture? If not, then we are all barking up the wrong tree.

Also we need to know what the Dr. gave you.

Too many uncertainties at this point for any relevent answers.
do you wear trainers - they're the worst offenders for toe-nail fungus, and

smelly feet!
