You're not right, are you.
is there a little on/off switch on your head?
What an entirely sensible question with an excellent basis for comparrison. I can't think why you don't post in Science more often. They're lost without you.

Somewhere in this world, you existence is depriving a village idiot of oxygen.

Dotty, I'm sorry to hear that. Look after each other and best wishes.
Do you know how many people come on this site?

How can you make such a judgement from the post of just one of those people?

I think that says more about you really.
Sorry Dot, I didn't see your post. That is very sad.

my thread had nothing to do with miss carriages. it is to do with the difference of taking a un aware human life vs taking a aware animals life.
Question Author
dot i made a thread about you
Oh no Dot I'm so sorry to hear that! Strength to you all xxxx
Hi there gravitate.

This is actually a very interesting question but ultimately its a matter of personal choice.

I choose not to eat meat as i agree that the rearing of animals simply to provide a highly inefficient food source is inhumane and illogical. Its also unnecessary.

However I would also totally defend the right of a woman to end a pregnancy if it is their choice that this is the right thing for them to do. I believe the current abortion laws set the right level.

Farm animals have no rights nor any say in what happens to them though they are fully formed sentient beings. A fetus is not fully formed nor sentient until a very long way into the pregnancy. This is an essential difference and the reason your question does not make a realistic comparison.

I do realise that my views will inevitably upset some people and there are some who will argue vehemently against what i have said. Some may agree. That is the nature of a hypothetical debate.

I hope that this provides a more structured response to your question.
