Everytime my boyfriend doesn't shave I get cold sores. He doesn't like to shave everyday. How can I prevent this, other than not kissing him? Btw, I get them from the sun, stress, etc. It's in my family, even my grandmother would get them when sick. It sucks!

tell the dirty git to shave more often?
Cold sores are a virus and chemists give lots of medications at huge expense, which take yonks to work....& ne'er completely.

Try my cheapy: Nail polish remover (acetone)! Just spot dab with finger morning & night....gone in 48hrs!

In future as soon as you feel the 'tickle' and before the sore breaks is the best time to halt it further with ACETONE!
and bleach clean all drinking vessels to stop further infections.

I always feel cold-sores start after pub booze-ups as their glasses seem to pass the virus!
^ stop drinking in Wetherspoons then!
I also hate shaving every day, but with a wife and three daughters and two grandchildren to kiss on a regular and frequent basis, I simply get on with it.

the notion that I could exacerbate a condition in a loved one simply by being idle would be more than I could live with - tell him to have a bit of consideration - or withdraw your affections (all of them!) until he is a little less self-centred!
duh! its not the glasses from the booze up that give you c'sores. a good sesh screws with your immune system, making it weak and hence allows the c'sore to break out. ;o)
Agree with manimoo!!!
Oops! Sorry! I submitted that before I could add the extra letter! My keyboard's playing up!
