Sore upper back

Hi i have had a sore back for the past week, at first i thought i must have slept funny, but i have done that before and it normally goes within 2-3 days, it has been a week now and its getting worse not better, i have used deep heat spray, deep heat patches and had lots of hot baths. but it seems this has not worked, does anyone have any suggestions?
