As a lot of you know Im expecting my second child in April next year. With my first pregnancy I would go to bed earlier but that was the only real difference to my life in the first trimester, oh and the onlys sickness i had was a gagging reflex when i brushed my teeth.

This time around Im exhausted, i feel faint all the time and Im right off food because of the constant nausea. I am eating little and often but not enjoying it just to ensure i have some energy.

I spent most of the weekend in bed asleep and yet still wanted more. My blood pressure reading at my booking appointment was 130/80 which considering i get high BP readings at doctors due to phobias was my lowest ever result so i know my BP is low.

is anyone else finding it harder 2nd time around?

i cant even think about food without wanting to be sick 4get.

my eyes feel as if they are withdrawing into my head as well :(
Hi Red, sorry you are feeling so crap. I am only on my first and am feeling pretty ok, I had morning sickness, of a sort, for about a week and a half, I didn't vomit but felt constantly nauseous and so went off food altogether. From weeks 5-8 I slept almost constantly, I would get in from work then sleep for 2 hours, then wake, try to eat something, and still be in bed byhalf 8 and sleep through til 6! My friend is due a copld of days after me but is on her second and is suffering badly, although she also suffered badly on her first too. I guess it is down to the individual but I will repost here again in a few years when I am on my second!

When's your due date?
Question Author
my due date is 14th April at the moment so Im 10 weeks today.

When i first wake in morning Im fine for about an hour and then i get worse and worse until by 6pm i can hardly function. Im finding it hard and feeling guilty as i cant play with my son all the time like he wants.

Perhaps im expecting a girl this time lol
Sorry to hear you haven't been feeling well. A relative of mine was poorly all the way through, from the word go, & as it was her second pregnancy, she was anxious about the birth not being too good either. Happy to say it was the opposite, and everything was over & done with in 5 hours, from start to finish. She now has a bouncing healthy son .
I don't want to sound like I am teaching granny (or mummy!) to suck eggs, but when I felt like this the other week I was eating absolute truck loads in the morning for brekkie because I knew as the day went on I would feel worse and worse, and was rarely eating an evening meal. Maybe you could try scoffing first thing then at least you know you are getting all the right stuff and haven;'t got to worry about it for the rest of the day except for snacking on crackers!
Question Author
lol natalie, all advice welcome as i didnt feel like this before so its all new. Ive tried eating loads for brekkie but even then i cant face a lot. I try and eat a large bowl of porridge and some toast though.

Ive just satisfied a craving for potato waffles and a fried egg lol but i cant just eat unhealthy stuff. Have got a load of fruit next to me to try and get through the afternoon.

Briar-rose, Im glad your relatives pregnancy got better for the final hurdle. Im hoping that mine wont be bad for that long. :)
Hia, I'm expecting my second in May and I've been quite shocked how tired I am arleady. Difference is that this time, my husband is home rather than away in Iraq for six months and I have a very exhausting 3 yr old! So you could say I have two extra people in my house.

I have to keep going for my 3 yr old but I want to still have a nice evening with my hubby, I'm slowly realising I have to listen to my body. Also having Pre-eclampsia last time has made me anxious this time round!

I'm sure our bodies will adapt, it did last time and our bodies are very resourceful!

My BP is always high too..... 130/80 would be brilliant for me!
Red why on earth do you want kids in the first place lol
Somebody had YOU, Rev!
I know and the thought of little me's running about is most horrible thought imaginable lol.
Question Author
I know rev, if you knew 4get youd wonder why too lol

After seeing her "pics" I feel I know her intimately lol
I felt like sh1t during the first trimester of my second pregnancy..and got much more tired towards the end.

Having to look after a toddler doesn't help!

And can I just say..I hadn't the foggiest idea you were preggers! did you make a big announcement? if so. I missed it :o(

Congratulations, red :o) :o)
dont get me in trouble with red rev!
You said you wanted me to get you into trouble lol
Put it this way............there definately isnt going to be a third time round for me! lol

Im 17 weeks today and still suffering with sickness. It sounds like youre living pretty much the way I do..........eating for the sake of eating, not being able to talk about food without feeling ill and spending all weekend in bed trying to rest and catch up on much needed sleep! Now Im back at work its even worse! Im so exhausted and I only work part time! Today was a total nightmare at work and I nearly walked out! Im very tempted to call to go out sick for a hwile because I came home suffering pains in my stomach and my head pounding. The first thing I did when I got home was be sick.........very sick.........in fact I havent been that sick since about week 8 or 9 of my pregnancy. Im not acting on my pregnancy, but I am not going to put myself or my baby at risk!

Ok sorry that turned into a major whinge but I do feel better for getting it off my chest lol

Keep eating and drinking and resting when you can and things will get better. Despite my moans, things have become easier for me in my 2nd trimester and Im sure they will for you too :)
