How long should I be off work with a broken toe?

[Why??]

I broke it on Sunday, and was planning on taking the rest of this week off. Is that too long or should I be off longer considering it will take 6 weeks to heal(I didnt think to ask at A&E). I am a Nursery Nurse, so my job is very active which is what I'm worried about. I also have to drive to work. I feel like a bit of a fake sitting at home cause I don't feel I'll or anything. Would appreciate some advise. Thanks.
