di georges syndrome and palete surgery

Hiya, We need advice from anyone who has had their childs palete operated on. My friends daughter, who is 4, is due to have a palete operation to tighten the muscles at the back of her throat. The syndrome she has, di georges, makes her immune system low and her Mum is worried sick about the whole thing and wanting to hear any success or otherwise stories... Hope someone can advise with their story.
