hi, im 'flat footed' and this sounds dumb but is there any 'thing' i can do to strengthen my foot. i went ice skating tonight and as normal after 10-15 mins my feet would realy hurt at the point where i would have to get off the ice and take off the blades. This also accurse with most sport: football, rugby, roller blading, and goin to the gym so i know its not because i maybe useing the wrong footwear becuase i use different footware for all of those sports. So to repeat the question, i would like to know if theres any type of way that i can strengthen my feet.

Thanks, Elz.

why don't you ask your gp to refer you to a podiatrist, if it is affecting your quality of life now whilst you are young and active, it may be alot harder when you are older and so maybe you should seek their advice now.
I agree with dot here, but you might also look into placing good insoles with raised arches into your shoes. You can get them from Dr. Scholls in most pharmacies. They take a little while to get used to but do strengthen the foot arch after a while. The podietrist will probably suggest the same to you and probably some exercises you can do as well. Best of luck. :o)
oh and i would also go on a handmadeshoes.com site as they can do bespke fittings for u

Thanks alot Dot and Cara.. i'll look at buying some insoles for trainers i use down the gym but until i get older and kind 'stop growing' i will look into seeing a podiatrist at about 18 if i feel that it restricks me from sports i enjoy.. but at the age of 14 i think i'll just wear 2 pairs of thick socks when goin ice / roller skating.. i got a massive blister from it :( Thanks again Dot an Cara!
