i am wanting to grow my hair long but the problem is whenever i wash my hair and let it dry is baloons (or mushrooms whichever you can visualise with) outwards and makes me look like an arse. What can i do to make my hair stay flat on my head.

Have you thought about ceramic straightners? My hair is really frizzy/wavy & very unattractive when long. I started using GHD straightners meaning I could grow my hair long as they keep it beautifully straight all day, unlike normal straightners.

Is it layered? as mine used to be just one length and coz my hair is so thick it just used to balloon out, now I have it layered and straighten it.

yes hairdresser will be able to thin your hair without having to affect the length. I would go for Kodo straightners rather than GHD - half the price and more effective. Search google - expect to pay around �50 . think they are called kodo creative.

My hair is really corkscrew curly,I couldn't get on with waiting for my hair to dry then straightning it cos it looked dry afterwards and frizzy so i got some wet to straight, BRILLIANT,My hair is shiny and once its straightened it lasts until i wash it again,best thing ever!

Have you ever noticed that curly haired people hate their hair curly yet straight haired would die for curly hair. :-)

Yeah i agree 4getmenot when i was younger my hair was almost straight so i kept having perms, now its really curly i straighten it and if i'm blonde i want to be dark if i'm dark i want to be blonde,no one is really satisfied i don't think!

My hair is shoulder length & very thick, so I have to have it sliced into, to thin it out & make it more manageable. I also use my wonderful BaByliss hair straightener after washing & drying to make it look sleek & shiny.

Remington make wet to straight,and before anyone suggests they are bad for your hair,I've been using them for a year now and my hair is looking in better condition now than it ever has it actually shines!
