This eye problem I have, has been going on since at least August, on and off, I have had 3 lots of antibiotics a 3 day course of steroids, and have been told if it doesn't clear up this time, they will send me for a scan, I am 2.5 days into these latest antibiotics and my eye seems worse, it's red all over the lid swollen and nearly closed up, how do they scan one eye?

/////how do they scan one eye?/////

The same way as they scan two eyes........it will be an MRI scan of your whole skull.

Ah I didn't put my question very clearly, that was what I meant to say, a whole body scan or just a head scan, not just one eye
:( thanks Sqad
Just a head scan with or without injection into an arm vein of contrast medium.
This does not answer your question but I was reminded of this situation that my mother dealt with. She kept getting eye infections and going through antibiotics, then the infection would return. After several rounds, her doctor discovered that her some of her eyelashes were turning inward instead of outward, causing the infections. Believe it or not, she had plastic surgery on her eyelids that turned the edge of her eyelids outward, changing the direction of those errant eyelids. She never had that problem again.
