I have had some pain in the groove of my ear for a week and a half now and it is quite painful and so can't wear my hearing aid.

I called to the pharmacy earlier and she was terrified of looking at the ear, so she just said oh you probably need a steroid cream without looking!

I have Betnovate - think it is a form of cortisone - I have used that just now. Will that suffice. Far too much hassle hassling doctor etc.

some pharmacy assistants are useless. Are there other chemists you could ask?
The pharmacist should've put some gloves on and looked properly tbh. Not sure why they would be terrified, JJ. You would've thought they see stuff like regularly.

jno - wasn't assistant but the actual pharmacist - you would have thought I was contagious
No it isn't sufficient......you need chlomycetin cream 1% which is available over the counter and applied night and morning and by Monday next it will be clear.
I would not use the steroid cream at the moment.
chloromycetin.
