I make my ice cubes in a tray but now, for drastic reasons, I'll have to think of some other way to do so! Anyone recommend an alternative to ice cube trays?...are there bags or...? Ta Muchly and still Take Care All!

there are ice cube bags i believe. why can't you use a tray?
Ice cube bags you fill with water yourself.
Or a much easier way, buy bags of ice cubes from the supermarket.
Yes, you can get ice cube bags from Sainsburys, et al. You fill the compartmented bag with water, tie the top and freeze. You can then cut off as many cubes as you need and pop them into your glass.
they are cheap that's for sure, and make lots of ice cubes.
The bags with the cubes in are cheap enough under a quid for 2kg.
on the amzone link its 2.53 for box and makes 800 ice cubes..

Sorry guys, I forgot to ask whether the cubes would be small or large? Very possible chance our f/freezer will conk out very soon, 25-ish years old, so we're getting new one, but ice cubes not high on priority list - until now!...will try amazon and sainsburys. Many Thanks All!
There must be a lot in a 2kg bag
Buy a nice Samsung American style fridge freezer. Ice cube dispenser built in and filtered cold water on tap from the mains too.

Otherwise, yes there are bags.
The cubes look smaller as well from the bags to me,A lot larger cube in the bags (it appears at first glance)
American style are great, our problem is we haven't got the room for one lol!!!
I just make mine in a tray then put them into an empty ice cream tub when hard and make more so I never run out. Ice cream container holds around 4 trays of ice cubes.
Yes ,we used to do that, its just a bit more convenient in a bag, our trays cracked so we switched.

Same prob as Joe...not enough room! Good idea Shed, but would need a shelf first to put tray on while cubes are cubeyfing!...but then, if had shelf, why the need for bags - yeah, too much rush, not enough thought!
Bigger is better with pre-frozen ones - you can always make them smaller by dropping the bag
i used to hit them with a rolling pin to break them up to small pieces......
I go through lots of bags of ice. £1 from my corner shop. The cubes are large enough but if I want them smaller I put them in a sandwich bag and beat them with a mallet/hammer/rolling pin.

I only have a chest freezer so ice cube trays are not suitable.

You can get a ice maker for about £20. Search Amazon.
I use the plastic bags but then that's because I wouldn't want to lug bought ones from supermarket 20 minutes drive away. I suppose it depends how often you use them and space available in your freezer.
We have one of those American style Fridges, I am tempted to fill the water dispenser with wine but my other half says no
