I used some multi-surface spray cleaner once on my MacBook and I had to get a new keyboard. It cost me £200.

Betterware sell what they call 'screen eggs'. You get two in a pack; one is for cleaning computer screens and the other is for (I think) mobile phone screens. The 'eggs' seem to be made of some kind of fabric, and they are 2" in diameter. You just rub the computer one over your screen - press on a bit - and it really does work! You don't put any kind of cleaner on it, but it sometimes helps if you breathe lightly on the screen. At any rate, they don't damage your screen.

I eat at my computer desk so the keyboard has crumbs in its nooks and crannies. On my desktop I took the keys off the keyboard and there was an amazing collection of crumbs. I couldn't get all the keys back on though.

Don't want to use anything that leaves stuff, like wax for a good shine, behind. One can buy specific screen cleaner sprays, or spectacle lens cleaner seems good. But usually I just wipe the dust off every now and again, unless it's really bad.

screen was not bad , but that much had been sprayed on keyboard, all the keys were gummed up and sticking down rendering any typing a no no...

Just run a hand held V-Cleaner over ours once a week or so, and do all the Air-vents and Sockets as well, seems to work.
30 odd years ago when I sold Rank Zerox photocopiers we used this product to clean the machines. I still use it now for my monitor on keyboards. It is absolutely bluddy marvelous stuff. Get some now, you won't regret it.
