compeed plasters are very good.
I was going to say Compeed as well - I used them when I went up Kilimanjaro and they helped
Sorry, I have just read your post in more depth. The powers that be would probably disagree with me but I would pop them with a sterile needle and use a dressing such as melolin
I agree with the others; Compeed will ease the pain and will survive showering for several days. Usually by the time they come off you don't need them any more.

Too deep to pop, they seem to be under hard heel thick skin. I might go out tmrw to get some Compeed thanks. i just wondered whether meanwhile Savlon? hydrocortisone? bicarb? I've no idea.
Savlon, hydrocortisone won`t make any difference.
Savlon will help stop infection and using cotton wool with a mixture of water and bicarb will help ease any pain or itching, but hydrocortisone is not recommended. If you can hang on for the Compeed, just apply and leave, they withstand showering and when they eventually fall off all should be healed.
