Tony....dave is nobodies fool. He knows that he couldn't close down the Beeb, even if he wanted to. The usual suspects would love to get rid of the BBC, but I wouldn't include dave amongst them.
Of course Cameron could close the BBC down or make them stand on their own feet, which amounts to the same thing, if he wanted to. But why would he, they share many of his 'progressive' liberal values.
Yet another example of the Left's inability to gain a sense of humour.
I think there is a bit of psychological pressure being applied to the BBC by the Tories.
They are used to a compliant press, and seem to regard the independence of the BBC as somehow "left wing".
The head of BBC News, himself a Tory, has expressed genuine bewilderment at some of the criticism that has been levelled at the Corporation from the party recently, most notably their criticism of the election coverage.
ichkeria...well said. The Tories always complain if the Media shows any independence.
