For the past few weeks the tops of my feet have been so itchy, so much so that I have bruised them, and grazed them scratting.
I am on Loratadine daily, and have tried all sorts topically to try and get relief.Tonight I have applied Eurax HC, Minty Mouthwash, cold water, moisturiser and god knows what.
I know it sounds comical, but honestly....I could weep.
Any help will be very welcome.

Had three hours peaceful rest, just going to paint on another coat and hope for the same again. :)

Anyone know what causes this itching? It's only in the evenings, only on the tops of my feet, occasionally my fingers itch too.
Thanks for the bicarb info, I slept well for the rest of the night, and currently have a little little pot of it ready mixed.
Have you got any fluid in your feet, if so then raising them and keeping them cool might help? Fluid drives mine crazy though sounds maybe more skin irritation if the bicarb helps.

I use Eurax lotion, not sure if that is different if you are using a cream?

You might find porridge oats help too if bicarb does, I stick them in the end of some tights (no waste as can't get them on anymore!) and run under tap and leave in the water and once soaked you can use like a gentle sponge.

Hope you find out the cause soon.

Living in the sticks, no we don't Tony, and I could imagine how I would be received in town... please Dr, me flipping feet itch.
You could try the A&E, ferlew. Tell them it's driving you mad and your scratching the skin off your feet.
och............... don't apologise , chronic itching is dreadful, hope you can get some sleep.
\\\Anyone know what causes this itching?\\

If there is no rash, no underlying medical problems e.g diabetes, thyroid problems, then clearly the cause must lie in the realms of psychosomatic, psychological................mustn't it?
really sqad ? maybe a human gp would find a reason .
