Hi
I have imaginary friends but I honestly didn't think it was that weird until my real friend said it was. Is it? Or is he messing with me? I have quite a few but Duncan, Aaron, Makoto and Not are the ones I see the most.
Aaron likes to jump off things, Duncan has green hair, Makoto mutilates himself (sometimes with the help of Not) and sometimes Not masturbates and cries :/
Ok I know Not is a little weird but it's just my imagination right?

Daisy, I think you might need to eventually - she IS your mum, and I guess you live with her? Do you have that teacher at school who looks after student welfare? We DO think you need to discuss it with someone you trust. They won't think you are weird.
All Christians have an imaginary friend, they seem to be Ok with it!

BUT THEYRE NOT DOING ANYTHING WRONG!
It's not what THEY do, it's how you handle the situation and what you think of it. How do you know what the long term ending will be for yourself, could it lead to darker things with you explaining 'the voices/imaginary friends told me to do it'?

But they don't ask anything of me! They just sit around and moan
You're not doing anything wrong, daisy, nobody has said you are. You asked us if it was weird. It's very unusual, we say, and you need to share it with someone who maybe can help you. You don't still want these imaginary friends with you for the whole of your life, you need real-people friends. Not everyone else WILL understand....
Serious question and not a 'put down': Daisy are you on any medication?
If your imagofriends sit around and moan, then you need shot of them. You wouldn't keep company with real friends who just moan and depress you. You need to be able to move on, and enjoy your life!

Daisy, you're not annoying us. From what you've just said, it sounds like these imaginary friends are taking the place of real ones you don't have. It's not a good substitute, pretend friends will never give you good honest advice, go out for the day with you, give you new experiences, help you with homework, introduce you to new people - that's what you need at 14, not the odd people in your head. You don't want to be thinking of multilation and masturbation, you need happy thoughts and to look forward to life. You need to start to be positive, and not take any notice of them when they start coming into your mind.

I'll see someone if you really want me to but I honestly don't care about what they're doing

I have grown to accept it
Daisy...you asked if it was weird to have imaginary friends, they answered yes at your age. You got your answer, you have received good advice, I really don't know what more you want. Please speak to someone if this is bothering you and it seems to be from your postings. If you are winding people up and I hope you're not, just say so that people know where they are. I hope you find the help you clearly need if this is for real.....and if it is, then please try to search out the help you need. You are articulate enough at your age on here, you should be the same when seeking help. Good luck.

You said they were distracting you and your real life friends notice you drifting off when distracted. By not giving your attention to real people, you risk driving them away. It's okay to be different but realise that you will need to work harder at overcoming other people's prejudices against unusual behaviour.

Daisy, you shouldn't have to "grow to accept it" - this is something most little children grow OUT OF, imaginary playmates help them to make sense of the world, well before their teens. You need to be able to NOT retreat into your own little world with these "people", and look outwards instead of inwards. You DO need some help, and it'll be there if you ask for it.
