Hi,

I need to speak to my GP "off the record", is this possible?

And if it is, how do I know it doesn't go on my records once I've left.

Cheers

If this is about a personal medical matter, then it " should" be recorded in your notes.

Once you have left the surgery, then you won't know if it has been recoreded.

A GP would take a big risk in keeping your " secret" a "secret", but depending upon the topic..............many would take that risk.

I understand and appreciate the need for record keeping, I need to discuss something that's already there on my record, I just don't want it re-recording if that makes sense. I'm looking for re-assurances from the GP more than anything.
OK, from what you say, providing you make your concerns clear before the conversation, then i am sure that most GP's would honour your request.
