Remedy/Easement for bruising?

I sustained some quite bad bruising to my hand yesterday when a rope attached to heavy object yanked out of it. I don't think any bones are broken, but the little, ring and middle fingers are very swollen.

I'm trying ice and arnica cream at the moment, with squad's standard painkiller regime. Is there any thing else that gets swelling down and bruising out?

Thank you

You are doing fine humbersloop.....no need for anything else.
Laying on a budget pack of frozen peas, wrapped in a teatowel, might provide a bit more relief and reduce swelling.

Arnica gel over the cream - works better - certainly on ice-skating bruises, though it is probably too late too apply now.

Cheers squad -it's just that the swelling is making the hand about useless at a really inconvnient time.

Mosaic and dave -thanks both, bag of chicken stew leftovers working at the moment,no access to peas till tomorrow :(
I have heard witch hazel is pretty good sloopy.

do not attempt to arrest the forward motion of a large sloop single- handedly, you pillock, on the bright side you are very lucky not to end up single-handed...

do not ever disclose squad's painkiller regime to a pharmacist, it distresses them...
Well you live and you learn sloopy ( usually the hard way though ).
as well as the arnica cream you could try taking the arnica tablets as well. It is usually a good idea to keep some in stock and take them immediatey after a bumb or injury like you have had.
sorry i meant bump or injury my computer sometimes misspells.
Another vote for arnica tabs. I took them recently after eye surgery, they were recommended by the hospital and I had virtually no bruising as a result.

One under the tongue every 2 hours till the bruising has gone alongside the ice packs. HOpe you're feeling better hsloop.
