HI there I am only 40 and I have AF my doctor wants to put me on warfarin but I am a bit unsure I have heard of this new drug called Pradaxa but GP was a bit reluctant, is there a cost issue here. I am on bisoporol 10mg and aspirin 75mg a day but he seems to think I have breakthrough AF. Is anyone on pradaxa here?

there are many different anticoagulants - Pradaxa appears to have certain risks compared to Warfarin. http://www.inpharm.co...axa-stroke-prevention

Yes, Pradaxa is more expensive than warfarin.

You are an obese diabetic and if you are getting bouts of AF despite being on beta-blockers, then your doctor is correct......you need to take warfarin.........in my opinion.
