Question for Sqad

Hello Sqad, I am looking for a bit of advice. I was told last Feb that I had torn my intercostal muscles and to rest etc... Which I did and I felt things had improved, besides the odd twinge when stretching. Since then I have recently stopped taking painkillers for my continual pain problem (ankle) and have noticed since stopping the meds that my right side rib area ( where it hurt when injured) is really tender still. Mostly when I stretch, cough, sit for long periods of time etc.... Should it still be causing me bother after all this time? The doc led me to believe that the pain should wear off in a couple of weeks and we are approaching four months. Just wondering if I should bother the docs again or if this normal? I did the injury pushing a heavy weight at work, heard or felt a pop and then had pain. Thanks

Greedyfly.....as the intercostal muscles play a part, a major part in breathing, then it is difficult to rest them. we are getting on now for three months, which is not unusual for costo-chondral or intercostal muscle injuries to heal.

be patient.....be reassured.
