I am thinking of starting Tai Chi, have seen people in parks doing it and I am very interested, it looks fascinating. I have googled it, but would like to know if any ABers do it, if it is calming and helps with weight loss, in fact, any advice would be appreciated. Thanks all.

I do it, or did do it and intend to get back to it. It's very calming, can help with back problems, teaches you correct posture and how to breathe properly and is great for de-stressing. As far as weight loss goes it isn't an aerobic type of exercise but you may find it helps with well-being and healthy eating.
I do it and really enjoy it.

I am the least sporty of types, completely non-competitive athletically and it suits me very well.
It is gentle exercise that promotes health, helps with balance and has certainly improved my stamina.
There is absolutely no question of 'feeling the burn' or losing either inches or weight when you do it, though.
It also does help a lot with stress as you are having to concentrate so hard on remembering the next move and how to do it correctly that you cannot think of anything else.
