Pins and Needles in head?

Hi all

I seem to be falling to bits lately. This morning I woke up and I actually had pins and needles in the right hand side of the top of my head! I was flummaxed by this, as I always thought pins and needles occurred because of a lack of blood supply, but surely if that happened in my head, my brain cells would die/ie stroke?

I havent had them in my head before, and I noticed that when i started to get the feeling back in my head, my left hand got tingly, is this related? I know I slept funny as when I woke up, I felt like I had broken my neck.

There are people better qualified than me to offer advice on this site, but I think you might benefit from a visit to a chiropractor.
Ask sqad - he is brilliant on health matters ....think he's a retired doctor?
Maybe you slept with your pillow in a strange position. If the feeling is still there in a few hours I would speak to your GP ........
Sounds much like a neck problem. I get it with cervical spodolitis. Personally, I wouldn't worry about it. Sqad will probably be along with advice.
scalp or deeper?
Actually, I get mine at the back of my head which sorts of creeps up from my neck. Not the top of my head.

erm that is a tricky question, it felt deeper i think, but it was 3am in the morning so I could be wrong...it was defo numb like pins and needles, like when you get a dead leg or something, and then the feeling came back and i got the tingling in my left hand.

I did sleep funny thats for sure!
No big deal.....I agree with the posters......almost certainly due to nerve impingement in the neck due to your sleeping position.

These are not the symptoms of a stoke, so I would suggest that you monitor the situation for the next 3 months or so.
I got a new phone last week, and whilst I was exploring it yesterday, I kept getting what felt like an electric shock going right up the arm that was holding the phone - this happened 4 times. I know that it's probably that I'd touched a nerve in my wrist or shoulder, but i put the phone away and tried to emulate the feeling, but I couldn't. Is there any chance that a mobile phone could harm you in this way?
I'm really sorry cream egg - I meant to start a new thread, and unfortunately answered you by mistake! I do hope that your tingly bits settle down soon.
How are you now creamegg - can you give us an update?

I haven't got the pins and needles anymore, but it has left me feeling slightly worried, though I do think I probably did just lay the wrong way.
