Hi

I got the implanon implant in the beginning of june this year after being on cerezette pill for 5 months, my periods have been so messed up since having it though i am nearly always on my period the longest i have had without one is 2 weeks and its had over its three months to settle in as was recommended by the doctor and so i dont know what to do it is really frustrating with always having periods and recently having really bad mood swings as well.
I read on the internet that you can take the pill as well to help settle the periods but didn't know whether this is right? Any one have any advice or experience on this? I still have cerezette left from before and was thinking of trying it.

Thankyou

honey in your boat chick, but hang on in there it does get better.
all ways go to the dr before you mix and match hun, they only give u a minni pill to help regulate ur bleeding. im under investigation to see if theres any thing else going on but my drs is methodical.
my bleeds were worse after sex, an i dread it for that reason. but touch wood no bleeds for 3 weeks yay!!
I have it 6 months now chick, so it does get betterxx
The most common side effect of the implanon is a change in your periods. some women stop using because of bleeding problems. Your periods to be irregular throughout the time you are using implant. You may have more bleeding, less bleeding, or no bleeding.
When I used it I had no bleeding or no side affects from it!
That's really horrible. When I had it put in I didn't have a period until it was taken out 3 years later...

I am just not wanting to be on my period anymore especially as i get to see my boyfriend in a couple of weeks for the first time in a few months as he is living abroad at the moment and its my birthday, just want a break from it.
I never had mime taken out!, it's been about 6 years now and I still have it in.
see your doctor or pop to your sex health clinic for advice. they are pretty good at sorting itx

I also had the implanon put in, in June, my doc said it can take up to a year to settle down but if the bleeding is troublesome then to go back. Ive been lucky with mine though as ive only had a week of bleeding twice. So far I think its great.

Made an appointment with my doctor now for tomorrow so hopefully they can give me something to help sort it out! Thanks for your help guys
Dolt I hope you arent relying on yours for contraception, they need replacing after 3 yrs.
Leapers I am on my 4th implant and like you this one was very troublesome but after several months it did settle down so hang in there. The other ones though did stop periods almost completely so they must vary in how they react you. In fact my GP told me if I had this one taken out and another put in it may be fine.
