I have swollen ankles - the right one is worse than the left, and it is aching like mad! I mentioned it to my Dr the other day and she thinks its just water retention and told me to buy Aqua Ban tablets.
Has anyone tried these? Do they work - quickly?
Thanks :)

Can you spend time with your ankles higher than the rest of your body, yele? It could be circulation problems. Is Aqua Ban cheaper than a prescription?

Hi Boxtops.....I am at the moment and I guess they must be cheaper! Dr didnt seem too concerned, not as much as I am.....she tried to blame the hot weather!! I'm more worried about it being my blood pressure as it was a little high!
I was prescribed Bendroflumothiazide by my GP for swollen ankles. I had swollen ankles after a 6 hour coach/flight travel which didn't respond to resting (about 3 days with my feet raised). I've been on them ever since.
I take an occasional aspirin to thin the blood.....my blood must get like treacle; anyway, it works for me and the swelling goes.
Another thing that can help at times is staying off of bread for a week or two, it has helped me and others I've mentioned it to in the past.

Thanks....I'll have some aspirin before bed and I'll give the bread a miss for awhile too!
I'll try anything-they look so awful!
Swollen ankles is a symptom of a problem and the problem needs investigating before you take ANYTHING.
