Hi,I am new to AB,and am wondering if anyone else suffers from restless legs. I have been taking different medication for a while now, but nothing seems to work for very long. It is affecting my sleep very much, and would be very grateful of any further advice. Thanks in advance !!!!

Have you tried Dosulepin? My wife has that for the same condition.
Dosulepin for restless legs syndrome?
Dosulepin is an anti depressant, however I can see a connection. I have also suffered from the same complaint, I was pretty much told there is little that works for this very irritating condition, fortunately I rarely suffer it these days..
First of all........are you on any medication for unrelated conditions?
I suffer from it yes. I have never been to docs about it so not tried anything. Some nights it's worse than others but I usually manage to get enough sleep eventually! Sorry I cant offer any advice but will be interested to see what others say.
I used to get restless legs often, but not so much now. Oddly, I do get the same sensation in my arms! Normally in the evening or when I am in bed reading. The only way to stop it, is to go to sleep. Strange I know.
it's horrible isn't it? haven't had it for years now but used to suffer from it fairly often. the only thing which helped me was to lie on my back, on the floor, and lift my legs right up and pedal as if cycling. this helped get rid of it once it had started but i never found anything to prevent it. this link might be helpful:

I suffer from it in my legs and arms.
I take a prescription medication called Pramipexole (also known as Mirapexin) and it works
Mr mac takes clonazepam for it.

Hi, thanks for all your replies.Squad, I am diabetic so take medication for that. But have suffered restless legs long before being diagnosed with diabetes. Mrs_overall I am taking the same medication as you at the moment ( well have been for about the last year or so).I take six every night now which I think is the maximum dose. Sometimes they work, sometimes they don't !!! I have tried all that has been suggested, even sitting on the bath and showering my legs with cold water. Looks like its another visit to my doctor, who I must admit is trying her hardest to find a solution.
