Am after a really great mascara for my holidays as I only wear mascara and lip gloss on hols.
I don't mind paying a bit extra for a really good one.
Can anyone recommend one please?

Hi Lil. I have only used Lancome mascara for the last 13/14 years or so. I have tried every other brand, but Lancome are the best. They always make it into the InStyle hall of fame too. Tho I never really need to use the stuff, I like to have one to use in order to produce a dramatic effect if I'm going somewhere special.

Try Hypnose, either in Black or Brown. You won't be disappointed.

Thanks no mercy, I will try that x
I tried a Yves Saint Laurent one and was not impressed at all. The one that I've liked the best so far is a Boots No7 volumising one. My friend has recommended a givenchy (sp?) one that has a little ball type brush thingy so I was thinking of giving that a go. Probably the next time I buy one I'm just going to go to the department stall and have the orange ladies try a few different types on me and see what works.
Best one I've ever tried is Max Factor Masterpiece Max mascara (the black tube). No matter what others I try, I keep coming back to it.

I also find that mascara is not at its best when you first open it, it seems to need a couple of weeks to "dry out" a bit after opening, before it works properly!
A friend of mine has just bought a new Guerlain mascara it has a sort of ball shape on the end instead of the long bit,. she says its brilliant as you can do each indiviual eyelash..its was about 20.. I am going to get one and give it a go myself..
I use Max Factors Masterpiece max like chazza. I let that dry & then use L'oreals telescopic clean definition ( silver tube ) just on the tips to add extra length & definition x
Superdrugs own make its waterproof and doesnt run.

Btw thats a fact as i had to get some for my mates wife last time i was back in the uk from the reef.
the heat here can make mascara run too, but thats apparently very good.

yours legend manson

Well im sticking to it.

Damn this thongs caught my left one in a vice grip

I don't use mascara......I have my eyelashes tinted every 4 weeks....
Do they use that shed and fence treatment ?

the eyelash preservation societeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee
Have to agree with NoMercy, Lancome is the best I've ever come across and I've tried many. I use the Amplicils one. Go to this page on the Lancome website...

http://www.lancome.co.uk/_en/_gb/makeup/animat ions/virtuose/diagnoscils.aspx?&

Click on 'start the diagnosis' and answer the questions. It'll tell you which of their mascaras is best for you.

Chazza is also right. Mascaras aren't at their best when they're first opened. I don't find I get great coverage at first. Give any new one you try a few goes before you make up your mind whether it's right for you.

Used to love YSL false lash effect but now find it flaky and dries out in the tube too quick. Have gone back to my old faithful L'Oreal double extensions. Have to use white coat and then black but gives long, black, dramatic lashes. If you dont fancy the two wand faff, L'Oreal voluminous is good too. I've tried them all and always go back to these two. Don't find the expensive brands to be any better. Have you looked at the website 'Makeupalley'? This is a fab website for make-up addicts like me and rates tons of make-up. I always have a look before I invest in a new product. It must have saved me a small fortune!
