Lemon juice is supposed to help
Go to boots and get one of their highlighting kits by a recognised make such as garnier. Check with a hairdresser if you are not sure which is best for you
I used to use sun in in the 90's its quite a harsh bleach, I'd spray it on and go out in the sun and I can remember how it used to give my scalp a burning sensation. probably was actually burning me. And the smell. Eeeugggh. Just go to hairdressers and get them to lighten your hair, best bet
I agree with 4getmenot , I used it once years ago and it turned my hair a lovely patchy shade of ginger! I'm sure they have improved it by now but I would still be very wary.

My mum uses a Nice and Easy home dye which covers her dark roots and is a really nice blonde shade.

I would really always suggest going to a salon for something like lightening your hair, it's not worth the risk of what could happen.
OMG this stuff should be banned.

I have some really bad school photo's off me in the 90's with dodgy looking blonde/ginger hair because of sun in.

If you can, what about going to your local hair and beauty department in the college. The year 3 girls are qualified and my long hair costs 17 to be cut, coloured and blow dried. There is always a teacher on hand who is a fully qualified and usually have years and years of experience on hand.
I'd suggest just going to the hairdressers, as that way it can't go wrong and the colour will be dead on what you want it. I find that lightening my hair from shops at all, never works properly, so I'd recommend your salon.
