Can anyone recommend a nice perfume - cheaper than chanel no5 but not as cheap as say lidl?
I quite liked he lidl range but it's for someone to buy me and I don't want them to spend as much as no5
If it could also be a permanent one too - not one of the celebrity fragrances

Thanks in anticipation

Opium.
Anais Anais.
It rather depends on, for whom, what age, and what sex.
secret obsession.....or if you prefer something lighter..Rive Gauche or Eden...
I don't think anyone can tell you which to get, far too personal but for middle price range look at some of the traditional cosmetics houses such as Estee Lauder or Elizabeth Arden. Clinique Happy maybe.
One of my favourites is Jimmy Choo I buy it from all beauty.com fab discounts and fast delivery, loads of choice
You need to test them on you first ... someone bought me a bottle of Je Reviens and it smelled just like industrial strength lavatory cleaner on me .... but lovely on the friend I gave it to. I am fond of the Estee Lauder range of Eau de Parfum ..the small bottles are not that expensive.

Ok here's what I think
Opium - too heavy
Anais Anais - Too sweet
Its for me (from my son) I'm 53 and a girl
Secret Obsession - not sure
Rive Gauche - Gone off that
Eden - I used to like that
Have one Estee Lauder - it has a grey top - its ok
Elizabeth Arden - Don't really like those
Clinque - that's worth thinking about
Jimmy Choo - is that too expensive?
Je Reviens - I agree smelt lovely in the bottle and on a friend but awful on me
Muglers cologne - I should have mentioned it had to be eau de parfume. Anything else just does not last on me
Well thank you all for your answers - I can now drop a few hints
beautiful by Esteé Lauder
elixir clinique
eternity Calvin Klein
arpege Lanvin
I'm just poised to buy a bottle of L'Heure-Bleu by Guerlain for t'wife.
Prada Infusion d'iris or Amber are both nice and not too expensive.
Lancôme Tresor Midnight Rose. I've had so many compliments on the scent.
Question Author
Oh I love Prada d'Idris but is it not more or less the same as Chanel - pricewise?
I actually have Hermes on now - my fave but I don't want them to be getting me that - its far too expensive
Prada Infusion d'iris starts at about £35 for 50ml. Not sure how old your son is but I bet he wouldn't mind spending that on his Mum, if he is working that is.
My son chose for me with no prompting Armani Diamonds Rose and I love it.
I also like Boss - Ma Vie but you might find it a bit too sweet.
Question Author
Oh he's working but he also has two little ones and I would rather he spent the money on them - but he won't
@khandro...could you buy me some also...please,please,please. I used to love that, been ages since I've had any. I also adore Shalimar, also by Guerlain...one of the oldest perfumes in continuous production. A beautiful classic.
pasta; I'll see what I can do, but please don't tell my wife!
Cool water by Davidoff. They also do special editions. I am more or less the same age as you and get what you have said about all the ones from the past
