I did something stupid as i never had any dye left and used all the left over bits of dyes i've literally had years. I mixed them up and applied them and was meant to only have them in for an hour but i fell asleep and 8 hours later was left with a burning scalp and the smell of singed hair was all over my house.
I washed it off and some hair came out around my neck so not to bad but the rest of the hair has become strawlike and tough like mini dreadlocks.

How can i restore my now mangled head into my former beautiful blonde mane of long flowing luscious locks?

Please be quick as the shops are nearly closing.

You've knackered your hair and will not be able to restore it.

It's time for a Jesse J and patience I'm afraid..........

I can get to the salon on monday but have to sort out my hair and hats or wigs aren't an option
A pretty scarf may tide you over.

A scarf? I'm 22 not 84!
You're in trouble then!

Only you can see and feel how bad it is but from what you've said your hair has had it.
Very trendy is the bohemian look for youngsters, sounds like you have gone beyond any easy home remedy.
No need to be rude!

You have asked for advice and have been given it. There will be nothing you will be able to do aside from cutting the damaged hair off.

Basically i'm asking which products can i put in my hair to soften it and get rid of these strawlike dreadlocks, there has to be some kind of hair rescue remedy as you can get that stuff for skin, come on girls, think please
smother it in olive oil and wrap your head in clingflim
For the amount of damage you have inflicted on your hair....by falling asleep.....there is no remedy. You've screwed your hair and will have to start again.

Sorry but that's the deal.
You could try hot oil rescue, but eight hours! I am amazed there is any hair left - do hope you get it sorted.

BTW I am not 84 but make sure I stay awake when I need to time my hair colourant.

Divegirl rude? Are you sure you've replied to the right thread? I can't cut it as my whole heads like this! Would a sauna maybe soften the hair enough to brush it out or would more hair come out as i think i've scuppered my roots so they couldn't take a rough brushing
Shave it all off and do a henna 'tattoo'. People will think you are having chemotherapy and be sympathetic rather than think you are an idiot as they would if they knew the truth.

Okay hot olive oil sounds good as i have olive oil, can i heat it in the microwave or just in the pan until it's boiling then let it cool down?
