i like to discuss news items. but most of what i see in this section is from the daily mail, and some abers have very extreme views about some issues, so i suppose it stops me contributing.

Good Lord, is the Beehive still there? Last time I was in (1972) it was just one longish bar run by a Pole (of war vintage, not the modern lot).

Isn't the Bacchus on High Bridge, not far from where Dirty Dick the chemist's used to be, where you would go to buy a truss or something for the weekend? Sorry, I'm guilty of what you said earlier, hijacking this thread with silliness. Will go and have my tea and might come back later tonight.
