Amazing! I, too, have just reread this (but by accident 'cos I'd forgotten the first time). I think that about says it, though. Although the attraction to me was that I have sailed in and out of Chapman's Pool, I found the story "went on a bit" It also had slightly too many characters for my taste (probably early-onset Alzheimer's - I tend to forget who is who!!). I find all her books are readable, but never leave me with a sense of something gained. Prefer Frances Fyfield.

I find it amazing that although you are rereading it you can't get the title right ..It's THE ECHO ..Minette Walters has never written a book called Echo Beach.

Tony thank you for your views ...I shall start it this week..

shaney star...take your point!I knew it had the word Echo in it and was confusing the TV programme..!!!
I think that because I`ve read a lot of books and my memory isn`t what it was .... to be honest I`m not sure it impressed me that much as you can see!

Just wondered what others thought of book....

Sorry didn't mean to come across as picky ...I have read this ages ago ..I seem to remember that it was a bit convoluted . The plot very confusing. It was the one about a drug addict found dead in a garage in some upmarket part of London ...Not one of her better books . I think tony has got muddled up too ..Chapmans Pool was in The Breaker . The body having been washed up there . I've gone off her books ..I really enjoyed her first few but the last couple I read weren't up to much .That Fox Evil was a load of rubbish !

You are dead right, Shaneystar2!! I have a compendium containing "Echo" and "The Breaker". My comments still stand, though and I agree with you - her output is less intersting each time. HAve you read Fyfield??
