I'm about to go on the occupational health and safety course and have been told to read 'Introduction to Health and Safety at Work' by Phillip Hughes and Ed Ferret. However, in the joining instructions the isbn number is for the second edition. I can get hold of the second editions but also have the option of the most recent, third edition. Can anyone advise me? What do you think I should get, the most recent one or the one that everyone else on the course will have?

get the third edition. health and safety law changes periodically and so you need the most up to date one. Especially as you will use this book in your career, or might have to buy other books too
The most up to Date version Would be my choice.

Most courses take a few months to get aprovall and legislation can change within that time.

By being more up to date than the course.

Also read what the recomended ..Philip Huges& Ed Ferret
As thats what they wan to Know about.
