Does anyone know where I can obtain original paintings (or possibly drawings) by A R Quinton - an English rural artist 1853 - 1934?

Thank you for your response. I think the eBay seller has a print since it is numbered. Salmons were publishers of many of his paintings as postcards. ARQ was my great grandfather so I am keen to get hold of some of his originals. Thanks again

Hi i think i actually have a painting it's of clovelly and has the initials A R Q on the bottom right hand corner it's framed in an old large frame by gladwell & company 70 & 71 cheapside london

That sounds promising dottydora1 - do you know how you got it? Does it have any detail on the back at all? Also can you provide dimensions and perhaps a picture? Are you willing to sell and if so a price?

Cheers
Peter
Hi i bought it while on holiday in Cornwall about 10 years ago. I went to Clovelly but can't remember if i bought it there or not. It's in a frame which is nailed on at the back and sealed with brown paper so i don't want to open it (i'll never get it back on ) within the frame is gold coloured frame and the painting in the centre of this measures approx 10" high x 6.5" wide. There is a pink sticker on the back Gladwell & company 70& 71 cheapside London who i presume framed it, this company are still trading today and have a website. I can send you photo but where do i send it, ? i'm new to this site

Hi I notice that you previously asked about paintings by the artist A R Quinton, I can see the question was posted a while ago, if still interested I have an original signed watercolour by the gentleman, did not realise until today when carrying out research who he was.
Question Author
Yes - still very much interested. Are you able to send picture to [email protected]?
Hi I have an original watercolour signed A R Quinton - no title - around 40cm x 50cm high of landscape - possibly sussex valley. Salmon's have seen it but only take identified locations. I will try to find my photos and send them if you are still interested.

I have a 8" by 5" original signed Oil of cows in Yorkshire Valley? [email protected]
Hi,
Have a picture that has been passed down from my grandfather. It is of St Michael Mount by A R Quinton, now I am not sure if this is on original or a print, and as it is in a picture frame I am reluctant to remove it from this as it looks very old. Yes I know maybe the only way to tell if it is a print or original is to do so. I have been trying to look online to see if I can get an answer to see if the original is already out there!

Now, on the back of this frame it has a company called J Salmon on it. I have contacted them and it appear they did a lot of postcards of this artist but no mention of full sized prints! So is this a print or original?
