Is there a term for when you write a word out phonetically (spelling?) to imply the way you may pronounce a word even though you know it isn't the correct pronunciation. Would it be a phoneticism? Like if I said bascetti instead of spagetti because I sometimes say that when talking.

The word is onomatopoeia.
I may have spelt that wrong though!!

No, I don't think it is onomatapeia. That is when you try to explain a word through its sound I think. Like saying woof to describe a dogs bark.
