memory card speed for canon 350d digital camera

can someone advise best speed for a memory card for a canon 350d and what effect this has

As far as I know, memory cards have different capacities, not different speeds. So a 128mb card would store twice as many photos as a 64mb card etc.

Are you talking about write speed?

Unless you are using your camera for pro use (which i doubt you are) the difference is negligable.
Most of the 'brand' cards will write quick enough for general everyday use.
For the small difference in price though its worth buying one of the more reliable brand name cards just because you will get a quicker write speed and they tend to be more reliable.
