Seen a few paintings a few years ago, around Saltaire area (in the North) which followed the same theme. Each painting shows houses/cottages and rainy street, or wet cobbles and the way its done is really realisitic. You really think you're looking at a wet, rain-washed street - they're lovely. Does anyone know the name of the artist ?

Thanks ever so In a pickle - kind of you to post a link - but alas no - they were not the kind of pictures I was thinking of. I think mine are done by a modern/present -day artist. Cheers anyway. Doll xx
Try www.allposters.com if you time to browse...a smashing site! Good luck!
The artist I think you are looking for is Stuart Hirst - He lives in Saltaire and paints 'wet street scenes' in oil and watercolour. His website is found through www.northprints.co.uk

Hello North Streets - you are absolutely right and thank you ever so much, it has cleared up a mystery for my husband and I. The website is brilliant and its good to read about your brother Stuart. We will certainly be ordering a print in due course - trouble is they are all so brilliant its hard to choose one ! Many thanks again.
