According  to trainline you arrive on 11 and depart from 12.

If you put your details in this link it should give you the relevant platform details for different stages of the journey.

thanks. does anyone know what side platform 2 is at newbs? itll make a difference as to where i park

Hopefully Chris will see this and you'll get all the details you need.  We might have to give it a Bump now and again.

Having run a railway station, I know that trains can need re-routing into platforms other than those that they're booked into.  (All sorts of problems, from late-running trains to points failures, can force short-notice changes).

However the booked platform for the 0645 departure from Newbury is Number 2.  It should then use Platform 11 at Reading.

The 0715 departure from Reading should be awaiting departure on Platform 12.  At Birmingham New Street it should use Platform 5B.

thanks all, i et very anxious when going somewhere new as i get fatugued very quickly

The parking inset very clear - perhaps give the station a ring for up to date advice? It looks as though there is a temporary car park with steps on the side for platform 2. maybe easier to park on the other side and use the lifts and bridge?

Question Author

thanks toorak, that took some working out but i think its the  north side.  just my luck platforms 11 and 12 at reading need steps, lift rather than just walking across a pltform
